In ancient times witches were known to craft love spell charms out of oyster shells. Oyster shells were considered symbols of fertility, and the love charm itself features engravings of both male and female symbols on either end, with two opposite facing hearts in the center. The male symbol is easy to identify as the arrow on the left, which is reminiscent of the circle and arrow masculine symbol we know today. The female symbol lies on the right, and is depicted as a triangle with an oval inside. You can use your imagination as to how it might be feminine, and you'd probably be right. Our particular love charm symbol was directly inspired by the History of Magic exhibition hosted by the British Library in London from 2017-2018 for the celebration of 20 years of Harry Potter. One of the many exhibits was about witchcraft, and this oyster shell love charm caught our attention as an ideal candidate for a wedding band design. We removed the letter initials and astrology symbols and distilled it down to a universal form. The result is a laser engraving on gunmetal tungsten in polished finish that is a beautiful and elegant symbol of love with deep meaning and the right touch of mystery. Draw your love inspiration from the magical spellcraft of witches long ago, or harness their power to cast a charm of your own!
