Important Note on Ring Sizing and Comfort Fit Bands

Standard Fit vs. Comfort Fit: A Side by Side Comparison

Tungsten Comfort Fit Bands

All rings featured on Timeless Tungsten are designed for "comfort fit" sizing. This means that the inside of the ring is rounded, not flat like a traditional ring, which helps it slide over the finger easier. This rounded inner shape is preferable for alternative metal rings like those made from tungsten carbide, black ceramic, or cobalt chrome. Because the shape is rounded, the inside diameter of the ring gets bigger as you get closer to the edge of the ring. By contrast, standard fit rings are completely flat on the inside of the ring, meaning that the inside diameter remains the same from one edge to the other. Refer to the above illustration for visual clarification.

Comfort fit rings tend to fit looser than standard fit rings of the same size because of this subtle shape difference. We ask that our customers take this factor into consideration when selecting a ring size on Timeless Tungsten. As a general rule of thumb, we recommend that our customers select a size that is about a half size smaller than their standard fit ring size.

But that's not all...

Jewelers use different tools to measure ring size, so they will vary slightly. This can cause different jewelers to measure your finger at slightly different sizes. Even the width of a ring can affect sizing. For example, a comfort fit ring that is 10 millimeters or wider may feel the same as a standard fit ring due to the extra area of contact between the finger and the inner band of the ring. Some customers may be just fine staying at the same size as their standard ring size in such cases.

Because sizing can differ so easily, we have provided the table below showing the inside diameter, in millimeters, of our ring sizes. Please allow for very slight variances of +/- 0.1 mm with these measurements. If you have any doubts please compare the size measurements with a ring you currently wear that you know fits comfortably.

In Summary (tl;dr)

For comfort fit rings, pick a half size down from your standard size unless the ring width is 10mm or greater, in which case you can either stick with your standard size or still elect to go a half size down. Also we provided very precise measurements to eliminate all doubts, use them.
